The secret to cracking your purpose
Have you been wondering about your purpose? Have you been seeking it? Or do you look at everyone who seems to be living their purpose and wonder if you even have one?
Our purpose drives us.
In hinduism, our purpose is called our dharma .
It is why we are here on this planet. It is our way of contributing and playing our soul’s role – the one we incarnated for.
First of all, stop looking at your purpose as a competition. Our traditional educational systems have taught us to look at everything as a goal to be crushed or an achievement to be slayed. Shift your perspective and start seeing your purpose as service.
Second, stop seeing it on a pedestal. Your purpose is not far-fetched or above you. It is right where you are- which is why it is so much more than a career choice. Your purpose is an aspect of you, and that is why it is indeed necessary, to connect with you, before your connect with your purpose.
Here are two key aspects – aka secrets- behind living your purpose:
01. Being in alignment with your personal mission
What is your personal mission?
We got to be clear with the kind of life that we would personally want to live while we are here breathing on this planet. We got to be clear with the kind of connections we would want to form or the kind of activities which we would want to engage. What is that which inspires us and moves us? What motivates us? What is that which makes us passionate enough to take an action? These are some very important questions that can help you crack your personal mission. Your personal mission then becomes your north star towards which you would want to align your service towards.
02. Being in alignment with the Universal mission
The Universal mission can be a problem that you believe that your beautiful planet and its people are struggling with. We are no more in the old paradigm of pursuing our self-interest. We got to align our personal mission with our universal mission. This is perhaps something which makes you really mad and angry and frustrated. These are perhaps problems which you have faced and you wouldn’t want anyone to face ever just because of the pain they put you through. (Listen to this podcast episode all about Transforming pain into purpose).
At the cross-section of these two, lies our purpose.
When we align our personal and universal mission, what we get is exactly our Purpose. This is something which inspires our creative energy and our desires on a personal level while also inspires the service and healer in us. We come to this beautiful cross-section and alchemy of what fuels us and also fuels the planet. This is something which is not depreciating or depleting either our energy or someone else’s but instead waters both.
