Topical astrology has divided a natal chart into 12 houses as per the 12 zodiac signs. These 12 houses represent the 12 different aspects of life for an individual on this planet. In my opinion, this is an excellent guide to understanding life as a whole pie than just a slice of it. Most often, with the obvious conditioning, we find ourselves obsessing about one or three areas of our life. For me, this pie of 12 houses shows an expansive zoom-out picture of what all life entails – and how much we miss out when we are centered on just one or two aspects of it.
There are 12 areas of life to look at and as per our soul contract and cosmic transits, we will have a chance to decondition, learn, and embody each aspect at different times of our lives. Of course, the timing for all of us for each aspect will differ. When we understand this, phew! It’s such a permission slip to stop comparing ourselves and our lives with that of another soul with another very unique soul print and soul contract.
When you read this through your natal chart (find your free chart here), you will find that you will have all twelve houses falling in each of the 12 zodiac signs. You may or may not have a planet placed in each of these houses, and none of that means good or bad, it just is.
Find me below breaking down each house for you:
The first house is ruled by the zodiac sign Aries. The first house represents your rising or ascendant sign and is about how the world looks at you. This is your personality perceived by the world on the basis of your appearance and the vibe they get when they first meet you or see you. This is also the house of self-image, body image, style, self-interest, and independence. This house represents your relationship with yourself on an external level.
The second house is ruled by the zodiac sign Taurus. The second house represents your worth and finances. This is is the house where you form a relationship with your possessions and money. This is the materialistic plane where you also establish your sense of worth and resourcefulness. (Join Jewel to learn all about the second house and embody its unique energy based on your chart in the ‘Worth & Money via Astro’ workshop).

The seventh house is the house of Libra and hence, deals with the matters of Venus. This is where you can use your personal energy to form partnerships – personal or professional. This is teh energy of co-existing and partnering in love, harmony, and balance.
