05 Ways to start Journaling for mindset and manifestation
I have been journaling ever since I can remember. While it started off as “Dear Diary”, it evolved to become so much more in recent years. It has become a great tool in my life to reveal my innermost psyche patterns. In fact, I have also been witnessing how journaling is enabling me to step fully into the manifestation of the life I desire (and mind you, we all have DIFFERENT desires).
So what does Journaling exactly do?
Journaling increase self-awareness instills more positive emotions, shifts you out of subconscious behavior into conscious behavior. You can reprogram your mindset through this incredible tool and enjoy the co-creation of your own dream reality.
Nonetheless, I have also been coming across people who perceive journaling as too hard or not for me.
I get it.
But just like all good habits, it takes time, practice and most importantly willingness. I am happy you are here reading this because you have shown willingness today! You don’t need to be a writer or a poet to start journaling. It’s literally a self-help tool for EVERYONE.

So here it is, five easiest ways for you to begin your journaling journey without getting yourselves overwhelmed.
Gratitude list
This is by far the easiest way to start journaling. When you make a list of the things you are grateful for, you enhance your abundance mindset.
The abundance mindset is not just limited to your finances. We all wish to be abundant in all areas of our lives – be it love, health, finances, success, happiness or inner peace.
By listing out all things you are grateful for, you are training your mind to see the abundance instead of lack. As it happens with the Law of Attraction, your abundant mindset attracts more abundance.
On my Instagram, last month I led the 21 day #intentionalliving challenge for making #gratitudelists and the response of people experience the shift was so wonderful! The impact of gratitude is massive in turning around your vibration.

Things you love about yourself
Self-love is the first step towards healing. When I started consciously stepping into the self-love journey through journaling in 2014, this was my first entry. There are so many things you think and list about the people you adore, why don’t you pause and give yourself a little love?
When you list down the things you love about yourself, you allow yourself to rise above self-criticism and see yourself as who you really are. We can often get consumed in other people’s glory and achievements and totally neglect our own essence.
This practice makes you see yourself in a new light and allow you to deeply witness your many skills, talents and characteristics. You will be in fact surprised to see how this practice reveals you a whole new worker in your team – aka you!

Habits you’d like to change
This is a great way to begin your transformational journey. Simply list down the things and habit you need to instil in your life. You may feel overwhelmed because perhaps some of you might want to change everything at once, but that’s the key.
You can pick up one new habit for every month and every night before hitting the bed, you can write about your experience, your learnings, your failures when it came to instilling this practice. This is a super healing practice as it reveals a lot of your inner self-limiting beliefs.
Affirmations
Affirmations are one of the most popular ways to start journaling these days. Affirming who you are, what you are doing and where you are instils a feeling of AS IF. Most of the sentences start with “I AM”. T
he I AM is a very powerful spell to bring your visions to reality. Often while manifesting, people like to think of THINGS. But honestly, what really works is to think of WHO YOU ARE.
We think we will be happy when we get this or that. The truth is, we will get everything that we desire once we are happy!
When you ARE that empowered, positive, happy person that you think you will be once your desires will come true, your desires have no other way but to manifest in your life. So yes, it’s a good idea to start your manifesting and journaling journey by affirming who you are instead of what you have.
For example:
I AM HAPPY.
I AM LOVED.
I AM TRUSTED.
I AM WHOLE.
I AM KIND.
I AM EMPOWERED.
I AM FEELING GOOD.
Envision your best life
Also known as Scripting, this practice is all about envisioning your life. Ideally one dates it few months or years later and write things in the past tense. For example:
“I am so grateful! In the past few months, I have achieved so much. I am so happy. I have full-filled my goal of … I experienced… and it was so much. I also went…”
This gives your brain a picture of what it is like to experience this lifestyle and subconsciously it starts acting from that place – hence, attracting that lifestyle right into your present life.
Weekly Journal Prompts
This is a great practice if you think you are open to dive deep and heal yourself. You can pick out a prompt for each week and write about it. Consider finding these on Pinterest or Instagram using hashtag #journalprompts. Prompts give you amazing starting points to dive deeper into your psyche and heal your fears.
EXAMPLES:
I am so stressed right now. I feel betrayed. I wish …. What can I do right now to make myself feel better?
From 5 years now, I think it’d be wonderful to be…to have…
The last time I was truly happy was when…I think I can bring this feeling again by …
I forgive myself. I thank myself. I let go of this guilt. I can be free of…
